SEPTEMBER 17, 2014 (METRO MANILA) – Up and coming pop-punk band False Apart made their official debut on YouTube Wednesday evening with the music video of their song “Nothing’s Left, Nothing’s Right.” At the same time, the young quartet (who are influenced by Japanese music) announced that they would be releasing a self-titled mini-album on Saturday, November 15 2014, with the newly released song being the carrier single.
The band, consisting of bassist/vocalist Arianne Gonzaga (one of the Harajuku Fashion Show models last Kawaii in Manila 2), guitarist/vocalist Jepp Padilla, guitarist/backing vocalist Karl Kliatchko and drummer Ivan Dabu have been a constant fixture in the local music scene since their live debut on July 22, 2013.
Highlights of the band’s career include a feature on IndieHouse.ph, a headlining performance at the Bicol X Music Festival and a recent 1st Runner Up win at The Yellow Room Battle Of The Bands 2014. Their music, which blends the groove of pop-punk with the twin-guitar riffs of metal and the sensibilities of pop music (the latter emphasized by Padilla and Gonzaga’s male/female vocal tag team) has been well received by local audiences, earning them a steadily growing and engaged fan base.
“Nothing’s Left, Nothing’s Right”, False Apart’s first single, tells a straightforward story of a couple in the midst of ending their relationship. This story is told through no less than the couple’s opposing perspectives, taken on by Jepp Padilla and Arianne Gonzaga in dueling vocal fashion. However, despite the bitter subject matter, the lyrics are ironically juxtaposed with an upbeat major key punk-metal instrumental, making the entire song less fit for moping and more fit for moshing.
The single may be viewed on YouTube on False Apart’s official YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/falseAPART).
