The person behind the blog Tricia Will Go Places is no doubt being true to her words. She is going places.
Anyone who is into fashion and blogging knows who Tricia Gosingtian is. Tricia Gosingtian is a highly noted fashion blogger who does photography for a living and modeling on the side. Her blog, where she shares with her readers her love for art, beauty and fashion, has gained a massive following locally and internationally and this popularity has led her to various endorsement deals, features on TV and print, and prestigious events. And to add to her long list of accomplishments, she had just recently launched her own book entitled “150 Style Essentials for Every Girl”.
150 Style Essentials for Every Girl is a style guide for girls who love or are just beginning to try their hand in fashion. It features Tricia’s own personal take, ideas and tips on fashion, beauty, kawaii and blogging. In terms of fashion, Tricia always cites Japanese fashion as one of her main influences because she sees and believes that Japanese artists and models are true to themselves.
In her book, she explains more about her admiration for the Japanese, “There’s nothing pretentious about their outfits. They’re just doing what they love and wearing what they think is comfortable and what they think will make them feel good.”
From the layout, styling, makeup and photography, Tricia’s sophisti-cute aesthetic is manifested in all aspects of her book. And just like her blog, this book definitely serves as an inspiration to all fashion-loving kawaii girls.
On November 30, Kawaii Philippines was able to attend Tricia Gosingtian’s 2nd book signing in National Bookstore at Trinoma. A lot of fashionable and kawaii girls have flocked the event, waiting to meet and greet Tricia and have their books signed. During the Q &A portion, one asked what kawaii is for her. With that, she answered, “It’s in my book… all the kawaii things you need to know. For me, kawaii is something happy.”
Tricia expounds on her fondness for kawaii things in her book, “… there is something about cute things that make me happy, and I could probably fill up a whole house worth of things I personally find endearing. More importantly, there is something positive and good in what is “kawaii”. It’s like having your own dash of sunshine, a rainbow of candy colors, or even a pinch of pixie dust to make you smile and fly wherever you want to go.”
As the attendees wait for their turn to have their books signed, Tricia takes a photo of each one of them. It was such a kind gesture from her apart from being very nice and approachable in person.
If you like Tricia and her blog, you would definitely love this book! This is a must-read for all kawaii girls out there!
